CIT promotes access to clean water and sanitation to enable healthy, resilient communities. Over the past three years, CIT has provided safe drinking water to more than 32,500 households—approximately 160,000 people—through the construction of boreholes, installation of water storage tanks, and distribution of household filters.

Additionally, 11,652 sanitation latrines were built, and potable water systems were installed at Child and Youth Development Centers. Complementing these efforts, CIT delivered hygiene education using nationally adapted curricula, covering handwashing, safe water handling, menstrual hygiene, and community-led sanitation practices. As a result, more than 85 percent of households reported improved hygiene behaviors, and target communities saw a 48 percent reduction in waterborne illnesses. CIT has invested approximately USD 759,000 in WaSH programming from FY23-25 to sustain these outcomes.
