Health and Nutrition

Poverty often manifests most visibly in a child’s health. Malnutrition, preventable diseases, and limited access to healthcare continue to threaten the survival, growth, and development of children living in vulnerable communities.

At Compassion International Tanzania, we prioritize the health and well-being of every child because we understand that a healthy child is better able to learn, grow, and pursue their God-given purpose.

Through our programs, children receive nutritious meals and snacks during activities to support their physical growth and development. These meals are especially critical for children who may otherwise lack access to balanced diets at home.

Beyond direct support, we empower caregivers with knowledge and practical skills on child nutrition, hygiene, and healthy living practices—ensuring that positive behaviors are sustained within the household.

We also facilitate access to essential medical services, including routine health check-ups, treatment, and referrals where necessary. By combining prevention, education, and access to care, we help protect children from preventable illnesses and give them a strong foundation for a healthy future.
